Cappadocia is the ancient and modern name of a remarkable region in Central Anatolia. The name of Cappadocia is believed to come from Persian Language (Catpa-tuka: The land of beautiful horses). When the volcanoes in the region were active millions of years ago, the lava which poured out covered all previously formed hills and valleys forming a high plateau. This newly formed plateau consists mainly of tuff (soft rock) and some rare layers of basalt (hard rock). The destruction of the tuff and the basalt layers by erosion (heavy rains and melting snow) and sharp temperature changes has continued for thousands of years and is still in process today.

Esentepe : You will see best landscape of Cappadocia. Your guide will give you info about area and show you differences between rocks.
Uchisar Castle : Uchisar is a troglodyte town situated right in the middle of Cappadocia. It is named after the enormous piece of rock in the center of the town, which was once used as a castle. This extraordinary rock is the highest peak of the area with the view of whole Cappadocia and Erciyes (Argeus) Mountain.
Goreme Open Air Museum : Resembles a vast monastic complex composed of scores of refectory monasteries placed side-by-side, each with its own fantastic church. The area covered by this Open Air Museum forms a coherent geographical entity and represents historical unity. There are eleven refectories within the Museum, with rock-cut churches tables and benches. Each is associated with a church. Most of the churches in Goreme Open Air Museum belong to the 10th, 11th and 12th centuries.
Ortahisar Castle : Ortahisar means "middle castle," and as its name implies, it is central among the Cappadocian towns of Goreme, Urgup, Uchisar and Nevsehir, and only a few kilometers from the Goreme Open Air Museum.
Pasabag Fairy Chimneys : Pasabag Valley which was formerly known as "The Monks Valley" is located on the right of the Goreme-Avanos road. This area which is full of peculiar fairy chimneys looks remarkable. Devrent Valley which is also known as Imaginary Valley and also as Pink Valley does not have cave churches like the other valleys of Cappadocia. Reveals many different rock formations and is only a 10 minute drive from Goreme. The small fairy chimneys in the valley form a lunar landscape, or moonscape, by their strange look. The valley also has many animal shaped rocks.

The tour ends around 16:30 /17:00, We will then drive back to airport for flight to Istanbul.
